It’s World Bee Day

When a friend mentioned it was World Bee Day, I thought of this painting straight away.

Because I'm a big fan of bees - if I ever get a tattoo it'll probably be a bee - and October's (super lovely) Online Paint Along was "Bee in the Lavender". So I feel like we're friends.

It's a special one, combining a soft, moody background with a few very detailed bees for good luck!

This painting started as a photo my friend, Steffi, took. I was looking for a reference for a very special commission, and then Steffi's photo popped up.

Then, I enjoyed the commission painting so much that I just had to do it as a Paint Along... then paint a bag for good luck!

That's how all these things start... with an idea.
