About the Tutor: Anna Battle
I’m a contemporary Toowoomba artist with over 30 years of painting experience and 15 years of teaching, face to face and online. I live for COLOUR and my mission is to share the joy of drawing and painting.
I regularly exhibit with my mother, artist Diana Battle, and my original collections are listed on her website. I have collaborated with Rosalie House Winery, Pechey Distillery, Milton & King Wallpaper and now have my own range of homewares and printed items, including calendars and cards. I've also painted many murals, particularly for the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and have been the Creative Advisor, alongside Mary-Kate Thomson, of the Grand Central Floral Parade for the past 4 years.
Through my business, Shiny Happy Art, I offers a huge range of online classes and workshops, from drawing to painting and urban sketching. I have taken artists to Norfolk Island and many other Queensland locations. I have offered face-to-face classes in many forms over the years, I’m is excited to share my approach to art making and making new Art Friends at Murray’s this year.
FAQs
-
Because I keep the weekly theme broad enough that I can share what is exciting and inspiring me - you will ‘wonder’ what we’re doing each week! A favourite series since 2016, I am excited to be bringing this workshop to Murray’s.
-
There’s a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 10 in each group.
Small class numbers mean that I can share my magic and knowledge with beginners and more experienced artists alike. I’ll share inspiration, art history and modern techniques that relate to a topic each week. There will be insightful projects about those topics, and the projects will create memorable art experiences. Your confidence will grow because it truly is ‘learning by doing’.
